Free Science Bingo Cards

Science bingo turns vocabulary review into a fast-paced classroom game. Cards are filled with terms from the unit you are studying, and the teacher calls definitions or examples instead of reading the words outright.

The generator starts with a broad elementary science word list. Replace it with your current unit's vocabulary, then print or download the PDF with a matching call sheet.

How to play science bingo

  • Print one card per student plus a call sheet for yourself.
  • Call a definition, example, or clue instead of the vocabulary word.
  • Students identify the matching term on their card and cover it.
  • The first student to complete a row, column, or diagonal calls bingo.
  • Ask the winner to read back each term and its clue to verify.

Setting up the word list

For a focused unit, list the twenty to thirty key terms students need to know. A weather unit, for example, might include precipitation, condensation, evaporation, cloud, front, barometer, and thermometer.

For mixed review, pull terms from several units. Keep the total list under forty entries so the cards stay varied without becoming crowded.

Classroom and homeschool ideas

Use science bingo as a Friday review before a quiz, or as a fun way to introduce new vocabulary at the start of a unit. Pair students so they can discuss clues before covering a square.

Laminate the cards or use sheet protectors and dry-erase markers so one set lasts all year. Markers can be beans, buttons, coins, or small erasers.
